On the eye, the wine presents a sophisticated ruby red. The nose at first intriguingly keeps you in suspense, but, with the time in the glass that this complex wine demands, it opens up to a world of promise. The palate generously gratifies with bold black cherry, subtle spice and some dried Italian herbal notes. Further flavours include some tea leaf and lingering thyme. A pleasure to luxuriate in now, but this wine’s firm tannin structure will reward cellaring.
